planning your wedding?

January 1, 2018

Recently engaged? Congratulations!

If you are planning a more sustainable summer wedding, you may be wondering which flowers are in season, and what choices make less of an impact on resources and the planet.

While many flowers are available all year round such as Roses, Carnations & Gerberas, there are some that are specific to the summer months, and purchasing seasonally and locally (just like fruit and veges) is the way to go.

"Grown not flown" is a term thats becoming more common in our industry these days and for good reason - purchasing locally supports our growers and puts less stress on resources because it has far less distance to travel, And they are fresher, in better condition and look amazing.

Gorgeous heirloom and vintage-style varieties such as Calla Lilies, Dahlias, Queen Annes Lace and Delphiniums are generally only available when the weather is warmer but we can advise on whats in season and what available locally.

Contact us now  - we can discuss the varieties and options available during your wedding month.

We still have some dates available this summer - so be in quick to nab them.

Happy Planning!

Renee
